FIRE DEPARTMENT TAKES DELIVERY OF NEW EMERGENCY 75Posted By Jim Berger on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 17:40

On Monday, September 13th, we took delivery of the new E-75 which is a Med tech Type III Ambulance built on a 2010 Ford E450 Chassis. This unit replaces our 1996 Med Tech that had over 130,000 miles. It will take about a week to stock and mount all portable equipment and the drivers training/familiarization will begin. On behalf of the Citizens of St Joseph Township the Fire Department would like to thank, Richard Uhrick, Township Trustee and Advisory Board Members, Tom Harris, Barry Kunkle and Erica Taylor for the purchase of this vehicle.

SJTFD was dispatched on an MVC with vehicle on fire and party trapped in the 9700 block of North Clinton.  Upon arrival of F-71, TRAA Paramedics along with ACPD and FWPD were on scene reporting a party pinned.  Small engine fire was put out by a FW Police Officer.  Crash originally reported farther south in Fort Wayne.  Engine 71 along with Engine 13 arrived and began extricating.  Fire 71 assumed Incident Command.  Samaritan was called to transport a critically injured male patient to Parkview Regional Trauma Center.
